Abstract:This study investigated the different dimensions of poverty incidence reduction in the Philippines through making use of secondary data. These were taken and organized by the researcher from the official gazettes posted in the websites of concern government entities, particularly the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), the Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE), the Department of Finance (DOF) – Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). Specifically the data taken from the NSCB were those of poverty incidence, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate, population growth rate, per capita income, Good Governance Index (GGI), and government expenditures and savings average increases in the last 5 years. Data on employment rate were taken from the DOLE; and data on revenue collection by respective provinces were taken from the BIR.
It was found out that significant dimensions to poverty incidence reduction in the Philippines include Internal Revenue Allotments (IRA) of provinces; spending on education and other manpower development programs and services by provincial governments; spending on health, nutrition, and population control programs and services by provincial governments; per capita income; revenue collection; and good governance.

Abstract:Participatory school management has been long acknowledged as an essential ingredient in the improvement of school effectiveness and efficiency. Given this critical role of participatory school management, there is need to evaluate the extent to which it has been adopted and its impact on school performance. The study sought to examine the influence participatory management on school performance in public primary schools in Nakuru North Sub County in Kenya. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The target population included 328 teachers from Nakuru North sub county primary schools. Using 30% as a basis, a sample size of 98 teachers were selected randomly form the target population of 328 teachers in the Sub county. Data was collected through administration of close and open ended questionnaire to the selected teachers. The instrument was pilot tested so as to ensure that its level of reliability and validity were acceptable. The researcher collected the data by first consulting with the head teachers, as to the most suitable time for questionnaire administration. Secondly, the researcher visited the respective schools at the agreed times and administered the questionnaire. The questionnaire was collected soon after completion. The collected data was then processed and analyzed using both descriptive and statistics. Results were presented using frequency tables, percentages and charts. It was concluded that team work, delegation of responsibilities, school culture and corporate social responsibility have a significant positive correlation with school performance. Consequently, head teachers can improve their respective school performance by maximizing on quality and quantity of the three factors. As such, it was recommended that first, the head teachers should be sensitized on how to relate with teachers and relevant members of the community for effective team work. The head teachers should also be trained in corporate social responsibility as part of their management training.

Abstract: This research was borne as part of the requirements for the award of the author’s Master of Philosophy degree in archaeology at the University of Ghana. The study sought to investigate aspects of the material culture of Tando and its relationship with material culture from other sites within the Koma Land archaeological region. The Koma Land archaeological region is an area within parts of the modern-day Districts of Northern Ghana, namely Mamprugu Mogduri, Bulsa South and Wa East, identified by archaeologists and anthropologists alike for its concentrated archaeological material remains. However, aspects of the overall data obtained from this archaeological survey are discussed in this paper to throw more light on the significance of Tando in the Saharan trade network of West Africa, aspects of material utilization in domestic space and how the present-day people’s belief system is shaped by parts of the ancient Koma Land material culture.

Abstract: Public participation is an essential component in the management of public projects like pre-school centers. However, there seems to be limited information with regard to how organisational structures in public pre-schools engage the public in M&E. This study investigated the influence of organization structure on public participation in M&E of preschool projects in Migori County, Kenya. Specifically, it assessed the level of public; the organizational structure adopted; and the relationship between organizational structure and public participation in M&E. Target population was 884 preschool project committee members and 7 sub county ECE officers. A sample size of 399 was derived using Yamane’s (1967) formula. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlations and regressions were used for data analysis. It was found that the organizational structure in place does not support public participation in M&E of preschool projects. Organizational structure was however found to correlate positively (.508** <p=0.03, 2 tailed) with public participation, with a beta of 0.164 and R2 of 0.545. This suggests that the more favourable organizational structure is, the higher public participation in M&E of preschool projects would be, and that organizational structure accounts for 54.5% of public participation in M&E of the projects. For the enhancement of public participation, the study recommends that adequate organizational structures should be put in place by the county governments. It is recommended that further studies be done on the influence of other institutional factors like leadership style on public participation in M&E of preschool projects.

Analysis was done using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Exploratory principal component analysis was done to check out factors influencing demand and supply of housing industry using SPSS. Analysis reveals that demand and supply of houses can be explained by four components and 3 components in the role of government.
