Abstract:The focus of this study was to investigate the determinats of additional voluntary contributions to pension funds in Kenya withSpecific aim of finding out the effect of member’s income to additional voluntary contributions. The population for this study consisted of 859 members of four Universities pension funds in South Eastern Kenya. Questionnairewas used to collect  primary data which was analyzed using descriptive statistics.  The study found out that Member income affected participation onadditional voluntary contributionsto pension schemes. The study recommends that the Government should proved incentives  in form of tax exemptions on income earned by additional voluntary contributionsto pension funds and increase exemption rate of pension contributions from the current maximum of Ksh 20,000 per month to encourage members of the pension schemes to make additional voluntary contributions.

Abstract:Micro Finance institutions are essential in promoting growth of small scale business in the country, therefore monitoring and evaluation is used as a tool to check the implementation of planned schedules besides the achievement of the project objectives. The study intends to establish the relationship between monitoring and evaluation communication and performance of Microfinance Institutions Funding Entrepreneurial Projects. The research designs that guided this study was descriptive survey design and correlational research design. The research approach in this study comprised mixed methods research approach and pragmatism paradigm. The study targeted all the seven licensed microfinance institutions in Kisumu County, including all the seven sub counties in Kisumu County. A total of 255 respondents’ was selected from entrepreneurs receiving funds, departmental heads and managers working for micro finance institutions funding entrepreneurship projects in Kisumu County. Quantitative data was collected through two well-structured questionnaires while qualitative data was collected using an interview guide after the research instruments have been pilot tested for validity content related method and reliability by test-retest criterion. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequencies, percentages, mean and standard deviation) to describe the indicators of monitoring and evaluation communication and their influence on performance of Microfinance Institutions Funding Entrepreneurial Projects. Inferential statistics, specifically linear regression analysis, was used to establish the relationship between monitoring and evaluation communication and performance of Microfinance Institutions Funding Entrepreneurial Projects.  The study found that that there were good M&E communication practices in the most of the MFI organizations because communicated was a key concept to most of the organizations. Most of the MFI organizations had clear methods of M&E communication and that best practices were communicated from M&E processes, M&E results were used to make decisions and that M&E communication was done in good time. Further, based on the first hypothesis testing, the study concludes that there is  a strong positive relationship (R = .538; p < .001), that exists which was statistically significant positive relationship between M&E communication and performance of MFIs.

Abstract:Farmers Livestock School (FLS) was designed to establish and manage pasture or grazing area using Forage Legumes Strata System Technology (FLSST), this was done by planting of forages species side by side in rows and in columns with legume species. The benefits derived from FLSST includes increased herbage yield, maximized land use, controlled disease transmission to susceptible forage species, augmented soil fertility and legumes improved overall feed value of available forage and extended the grazing period. The modalities were disseminated the technology using the FLS utilized, established and managed Forage Legumes Strata rather than the conventional information dissemination approaches, instead farmers were involved in all farm activities, maintenance and management of the legume forages.
Northwest Samar State University- San Jorge campus in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Region 8 implemented FLS project. Participants comprised 22 persons. The FLS was conducted in 7 Wednesdays, 1 day lecture and 6 days field works. During field works participants established 3x4m nursery and total area planted with forages was 1.3 hectares using pakchong, Indegofera, flemingia, malvere, centrocema and acid Ipil-ipil. The results revealed that participants appreciated the maximization of the idle land into productive. Inspiration to the participants in the project results manifested for them to cultivate their individual idle land and adopted the FLSST. Participants were motivated to acquired additional heads of water buffalo and goats since leguminous forages were abundant in their backyard. None participants of the project were able to benefit planting materials and cultivated their own Forage Legumes Strata.

Abstract:Boeing involves dramatic penetration of its supply chain away from the regular means used in aerospace. Such dramatic penetrations can lead to risk throughout the process. Boeing’s issue with their delayed deadlines is the direct results of excessive penetrations in their supply chain and inadequate quality of management team to mitigate the risk and develop coherent strategies against them. This paper discuss about the risk factors and ways on mitigating them.

Abstract: Digital transactions have increased enormously, post demonetisation drive by the government. According to a recent survey by an agency named “Young Indian Trans co” reveals the fact that digital transactions have increased almost by 60 % now.  The report further states that under 13 million government documents such as Aadhaar, Permanent Account Number cards, X class Marks Sheets are being uploaded into the digi lockers of citizens per month.  It is a clear indication of paradigm transformation taking place in the country.  In this context eKYC or Electronic Know Your Customer verification process, which ascertains the identity of the customer involved in the transaction for better safety and security is more vital than ever before.  The process is done in couple of minutes now, in contrast with, days which it earlier used to take. Using a small finger print scanner, that access the bio metric information of the customer and obtains the data base via mobile connection, a giant step forward in the path of digitising the country and taking it on the path of development.  According to an estimate, every month around 10 million eKYCs through Aadhaar is done. Every time a customer buys a new mobile service connection, every time a new customer opens a bank account, every time an existing customer wants to access his safety vault, eKYC is performed - it is a process of verifying the identity of clients and employed by companies of all sizes for the purpose of ensuring their proposed agents, consultants or distributors anti-bribery compliance. Banks, insurance companies and export credit agencies are increasingly demanding that customers provide detailed anti-corruption due diligence information to verify their probity and integrity. These ‘Know Your Customer’ guidelines have been revisited from time to time in the context of the recommendations made by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Anti Money Laundering (AML) standards and on Combating Financing of Terrorism (CFT). In India Banks are advised to follow certain customer identification procedure for opening of accounts and monitoring transactions of a suspicious nature for the purpose of reporting it to appropriate authority.

Abstract:Despite more research done on the resource management in construction industry, little is written about the individual companies and how they manage their resources to ensure successful implementation of construction projects. Most projects either stalls, or get abandoned or get finished but after a long period of time bur studies done with regard to these do not look at the individual company management but go for obvious reasons such as lack of capacity, poor weather and cost implications such as high variations or donor withdrawal. However many projects still get implemented within the stipulated time and conditions. The study seek to find out more about the individual management of a company resources by carrying out a research on the influence of resource management on the implementation of market shade construction project in Mageta island Siaya county. Resource capacity is used as one of the variable which is measured by bottleneck of resources, supply and demand and sequence delivery visa vie the implementation of market shade construction project as dependent variable. The study found out strong correlation coefficient of (p>0.05) significance between the resource capacity and the implementation of market shade construction.

Abstract:The Youth Enterprise Development Fund has made a significant contribution to the livelihood of many youths through provision of financial and supporting services especially in the rural communities in Kenya. However, questions have been raised on the efficiency of the Fund in the economic empowerment of Youth who are unemployed in Kenya. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of YEDF programme and the economic empowerment of Youth Enterprises in Matayos Sub-County in Busia County, Kenya. This study sought to finding out the effect of entrepreneurial education and training on the Youth economic empowerment in Matayos Sub County in Busia County. The sample size for the study comprised 186 Youth groups from where a sample size of 122 was derived. The study was based on the Knowledge Spillover theory. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. Systematic random sampling was used to identify respondents who accessed the Youth Enterprise Development Fund, while snowball sampling was used to identify control group respondents. The analysis of the data was conducted using both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The findings showed that the majority of the groups had not been given entrepreneurship training. The study concluded that there was need for Business skills training before disbursement of funds in the Matayos Sub County which was an essential item in the Youth business growth and high turnover in the Sub County.

Abstract:The increase on government expenditure over the years may not have translated into meaningful economic development as many Nigerians are still living in poverty. This has led to this study to investigate the effects of government expenditure on per capita income in Nigeria using vector error correction model for its analysis. The study uses secondary data that span from 1986 to 2017. The data are diagnosed with unit root test for stationarity in which per capita income (PCI), population (POP), and government expenditure (GEX) are stationary at second difference while investment (INV) is stationary at first difference. The result of VEC model shows that GEX posits negative relationship in the short-run and 0.85 percent rate of adjustment whenever shock occurs in the economy. The study recommends that government should inject more funds into the economy but ensure all leakages or loopholes are blocked as well as to ensure proper guidelines of policy implementation of fund appropriation so much so that the purposes are achieved.
