Abstract: The general objective of this study was to investigate the role played by CDF in funding public secondary schools’ physical projects within Lugari Constituency. Specific objectives of the study were: to determine the effect of CDF funding on physical projects; to establish the role of the school administrators on CDF funded projects; and to establish the challenges facing implementation of projects. Literature review focused on an overview of the CDF program. The study used a descriptive survey design. The study targeted 46 schools. Purposive sampling technique was employed to select 14 schools to participate in the study, representing a sample of 30.43 percent. Questionnaires were used for data collection. Results were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The study established that CDF led to a marginal increase of facilities in schools. The study revealed that principals had attended workshops, which enabled them to be involved in project implementation. Interference from politicians was the main challenge in implementation of the CDF-funded projects. The study recommends that: all schools should be given an equal chance to CDF funds; CDF team should sensitize the community on CDF funding; further CDF funding should not be politicized.

Abstract: The increased level of participation of the private and public investors at the floor of the stock exchange and in various public offers of quoted companies shows the trend of transformation of the Nigerian stock market over the years and this has attracted and embraced the attention and interest of international investors causing an increase in capital inflow into the country but does this enhance Nigeria’s economic growth? This paper therefore examines the impact of Nigerian stock market on the country’s economic growth between 1981 and 2013 using Wald test analysis and Linear multiple regression (OLS) techniques. The economic growth was proxied by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) while various stock market variables such as market capitalization, Total New Issues Volume of Transaction and total listed equities and government stock were considered. The result obtained in this finding shows that stock market has positive and significant impact on economic growth in Nigeria for a sustainable and improved growth. Some policy recommendation were made among which are the slacking of trading impediments, encouragement of more private limited liability companies and informal sector operators to access stock market for fresh capital among others.

Abstract: The crucial role of education in the overall development of a nation cannot be overemphasized. It is not only seen as a key to poverty reduction and vehicle for promoting equity, fairness and social justice but also helps to supply the essential human capital which is a paramount condition for sustained economic growth. Thus, enhancing effective investment on education and health has been a tenet of growth and development strategies for most countries. The basic objective of this paper investigated the relationship between human capital (through education and effective health care services) and economic growth in Nigeria, using annual time series data from 1981 to 2013. The paper employs OLS methodology with BLUE assumptions, wald test, breusch Godfrey and pairwise granger test was also used to argument the OLS methodology. The result shows that considering the magnitude 1% increase in RGDP (proxy Economic growth) is brought about by 46% increase in (EXPHLTH) expenditure on health, 107% increase in (GFCF) gross fixed capital formation, 92% increase in (TEXPEDU) total expenditure on education, 0.00091% increase in (TLBF) Total labour force. The estimated value of R2 (goodness of fit) of 0.98 or 98% and it show that the independent variables explain about 80% of the variation in the dependent variable. The findings have a strong implication on educational and health policy in Nigeria. The study seems to suggest that a concerted effort should be made by policymakers to enhance educational and health investment in order to accelerate growth which would engender economic growth.

Abstract:  Quality circle is a tool for increase employees performance and linking workers to the process of decision making. It consists of small group of workers from all levels of the organizational structure. The main purpose of circle is that every worker desires to take participate in making the environment of organizational a better place to work .The present study focus on quality circle and its seven basic tools .

Abstract:  Punjabi society is most globalised, while its economy is least globalised. It has a relatively developed agriculture without much direct linkages with the industrial development. During sixties, India agriculture experienced a spectacular increase in production, especially, in that of wheat and rice. It was mainly through an increase in productivity per hectares of these crops. The jump in the rate of increase in productivity of these crops was so sudden and conspicuous that some economists termed the new change as 'Green Revolution’ The main benefits of green revolution were: Increase in food grain output, increase in market surplus, generation of more employment opportunities in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors, having such great benefits green revolution was not a blessing for the farmers in Punjab. It added lots of problems in the lives of the farmers and made their life full of misery. Punjab has produced a number of paradoxes. The thrust of the paper is to suggest agricultural reforms for future course of growth and development for agriculture sector and ways and means to improve sustainability of agriculture production.

Abstract: Employee absenteeism is a persistent problem in many countries; it tends to reduce the quality of education and results in poor performance of students. Despite the extensive research on the subject of Gender as personal characteristic and absenteeism, little  research has be done in schools in spite of its importance. The purpose of this study was todetermine the influence of Gender   on employee absenteeism in Transnzoia County. The specific objectives of the study was: to determine the relationship between gender and employee absenteeism. Social exchange theorygrounded the study. A survey research design was used for this study. The institutions studied was selected using stratified random sampling technique. The two strata consideredwere public and private secondary schools with a sample size of 168. A linear regression model was constructedto establish the relationship between employee absenteeism and Gender from each institution that was sampled, the respondents was the employee of the schools that included both teaching and non-teaching. The Gender wasidentified as the independent variable, while absenteeism as the dependent variable Data was analyzed statistically using SPSS version 19. Both descriptive and inferential statistics was used to test the hypotheses. The study found thatgender had no significant effect on absenteeism, The results of the study form the basis for better management of institutions The finding of this study will help the managers of school  in endorsing the validity of incorporating   personal factors in interventions in recruitment, selection, training and staff development processes. The study suggests that future research can make use of longitudinal design to adequately examine the causal status of personal factors on absenteeism.

Abstract: Labour welfare as the work for improving the health, safety, general wellbeing and industrial efficiency of the workers beyond the minimum standards lay down by various Acts and Legislations. International Labour Organization (ILO) defined Labour Welfare as “Workers” welfare, such as services facilities and amenities which may be established on or in the vicinity of an understanding to enable the persons employed in them to perform their in healthy, congenial surroundings, and provided with amenities conductive to good health and high morale. It can also be classified as intramural and extramural. While intramural includes those welfare activities which ensures better quality of work like, scientific selection, trainee, good work environment, prevention of accidents, canteens, rest rooms, and refreshments etc.,. Extramural other welfare issues which also indirectly affect the quality of work life. Such issues cover, housing accommodation, medical services, recreation facilities, conveyance, social insurance scheme, provident fund benefits, pension, sickness, maternity benefits, school education for childrenetc., Industrial relations and Labour Welfare are two important areas governing employer–employee relations and benefits. For efficient management of an organization, it is essential to nurture healthy industrial relations and provide benefits to worker, both statutory and non-statutory. In India, we have several acts and legislations concerning these two areas. Many organizations, to derive motivational benefits provide welfare benefits beyond what are statutorily required.

Abstract: This study sought to investigate effective communications strategies on stakeholder's involvement and made appropriate recommendations based on the findings of the study. The study was guided by the following research objectives: Examine communication  strategies used to enhance  stakeholder participation for county-funded projects, To evaluate communication systems structure supporting various communication strategies adopted by the county to enhance stakeholder participation and to assess the county-funded projects success in relation to past stakeholder participation. The study targeted both the project management team and the users of the projects identified. A sample of 228 composed of 30 management team and 198 project users formed the study population. The study used purposive sampling to select project management team, and simple random sampling employed to select the project users.  These are individuals who benefit directly from the project. Primary sources and secondary sources of data were employed during the data collection process. The questionnaires and the interview schedules formed the main primary data collection instruments. The findings of the study indicated that formal organized meetings has enabled management team to devise strategies, make decisions and implement action and that projects with high stakeholder participation are never rejected by citizens. The overall regression model showed that communication system structures contributes much to the stakeholder participation by over 73.3% followed by communication strategies contributing by 34.2% and current projects contributing negatively by 18.1%. The regression results further showed that communication strategies has an effect on stakeholder participation with a beta coefficient of 0.342 (p=0.000). The research results rejected the null hypothesis that communication systems structures has no significant effect on stakeholder participation (β=0.733, p=0.000) and accepted the null hypothesis that success of project has no significant effect on stakeholder participation (β= -0.181; p=0.120). The study concluded that successful completion of construction projects is dependent on meeting the expectation of stakeholders and managing relationships with stakeholders, thus need for regular formal meetings between the contractor, project client and stakeholders. The study further concluded that public relations and communication department are very significant in project implementation. For the success of the project the study recommend that county projects ought to appreciate the digital way of communication since duration of passage of information affects implementation. The study further recommended that a clear communication policy is put in place so that project management and stake holders could have a basis of reaching to each other. The study finally recommended that the county development department put in place strategies such as communication structures including public relation department with qualified persons.

Abstract: This study has been conducted in order to investigate whether different management techniques and practices can influence the firm growth or not. The study has used major three management types such as operations management, human capital management and performance management as well. The question has been asked from the mangers of the firm about these three management types. This study is exploratory in nature. It uses the sample of 30 managers in order to take their view point regarding the importance of management techniques and their impact on firm growth. It was difficult for the researcher to take whole population due to time and cost constraints as well. They all has been asked almost similar questions from the managers included in the sample. Managers tried to explain in their respective interviews that in these management practices the technology has great importance, which cannot be ignored. Open-ended questions have been asked from the managers to ask about management practices. This study is qualitative therefore it can be concluded from the manager’s response that management practices have great impact on the firm growth. The utilization of resources with best management techniques provides best performance to the organizations.
