Abstract: This study presents the motorized tricycle transportation business in Catanduanes in 2014 and assumed its operation succeeds well and there are problems encountered.  Descriptive method of research was utilized with the questionnaire as the main instrument in gathering the data.  Respondents of the study consisted one fourth of the total population. Stratified random sampling was adopted. Frequency count, percentages, mean and rank were among the statistical tools used in this study.  Result of  data analysis disclosed that a typical motorized tricycle operator is a male; married; 30-49 years old; either college undergraduate or high school graduate; and gainfully employed;  operators of motorized tricycle hire one worker usually a driver; with one tricycle unit; initial capitalization is relatively low usually used to pay for downpayment of the unit as well as purchase of sidecar; operators are relatively poor and with fairly adequate income from motorized tricycle operation; most popular mode of division of income was boundary system where the driver gives the operator a fixed sum of money for each day of trip; the economic status of the respondents improved as well their social status improved also; Rationale were afforded as problems in the business such as extension of hours of being on the road; stiff competition; high cost of spare parts; gasoline; oil; others; strict enforcement of routes; inconsiderate operators; and corrupt LTO personnel.  Recommendations were offered on how to give fair share in the income from motorized tricycle operation; for motorized tricycle operators to improve their socio-economic conditions; to provide solution to their problems; propose detailed plan intended to provide standard procedures for policy decision making, within the perspective of the Local Government Unit, Land Transportation Office, Department of Transportation and Communication to the motorized tricycle operators; motorized tricycle operators should at least put up a tricycle operators’ cooperative in their municipalities and the routes to future research were identified.

Abstract: Recruitment and keeping qualified suppliers is very important in procurement performance in any organization. However, many factors affect a firm's ability to determine and select the most efficient supplier.  This study was undertaken with the main objective to assess the supplier selection and evaluation practices in the Kenya Seed Company. The study was guided by three specific objectives; to establish the criteria used for supplier evaluation in the Company; to find out the challenges of implementing Supplier Evaluation in the Company and to determine the relationship between Supplier Evaluation Criteria and procurement Performance in the Company. It employed a descriptive research design. The target population was 250 employees in the Company. A sample of 154 was selected to give response to the study. The response rate was 100%. Questionnaires were used to collect data which was analyzed using SPSS software version 20. Findings revealed that the Company base their selection on following criteria; quality of the supplier services , financial position of the supplier, flexibility of the supplier, supplier efficiency in service delivery, supplier charges, constitution and the PPOA guidelines, supplier technical capability, supplier profile, experience of the supplier in offering certain services/products as well as compliance with procurement procedures. However, supplier evaluation in these organizations is faced by several challenges including corruption, incompetent procurement officers, inefficiencies in procurement processes, lack of incentives, pressure of implementing PPOA and PPDA guidelines, cost of implementing procurement systems as well as maintaining procurement system greatly affects supplier selection process. The study recommended that the management of the Company need to effectively design the most effective evaluation criteria that would facilitate its procurement performance that ensured only most competent suppliers are selected and competent personnel are in place to manage supply chain processes in the organizations.

Abstract: The study sought to examine organizational efficiency on internal customer satisfaction at Accra Technical University. Data collected from 75 employees were used through census in order to ensure high representativeness and generalization. The main instrument for the study was the questionnaire. The SPSS (Version 16.0) software was used to analyse the data.  The results were expressed to percentages (%). In terms of satisfaction with support from other workers, slightly more than half of the respondents were satisfied at the workplace. Similarly, with regards to efficiency in the organisation, the majority of the employees were dissatisfied with all the three indicators used to measure the construct. For example, in all the three indicators, more than two-thirds indicated their dissatisfaction. Finally, as to what can be done to improve internal support in the Technical University, the respondents were actually not too certain to comment. In conclusion, effective communication with external customers and feedback system in the Technical University are a big challenge and that if left unchecked has the potential to affect the organization's efficiency. It is therefore recommended that management should put measures in place for improving communication system in the Technical University, since this has a great potential to prevent the company from achieving its targets. It is also recommended that employees should be rewarded after delivering excellent results apart from their monthly salary so as to highly motivate them to see the University succeed.

Abstract: “Finance is the blood of the organization” Finance is used by individuals (personal finance), by government (public finance), by business (corporate finance), as well as by a wide variety of organization including school and non-profit organizations. Finance is one of the most important aspects of business management. Financial management is two way process in which finances manager obtain funds and money at low cost and risk and use it in higher earning project at minimum risk.
Financial performance analysis is the process of identifying the financial strengths and weaknesses of the firm by properly establishing the relationship between the items of balance sheet and profit and loss account. It also helps in short-term and long term forecasting and growth.
This study has aimed in identifying the financial performance of Nestle India Limited through DuPont analysis using the three factors, viz., profit margin, asset turnover and financial leverage.
This study very clearly implies through DuPont analysis, the Nestle India Limited profit is fluctuating and was stagnant consecutively for three years.

Abstract: In the public sector factors such as corruption and bribery among others has affected management of procurement function. The main purpose for the research was to look into factors influencing procurement functions in public secondary schools in Tinderet Sub-County, Kenya. The study sought to find out effects of training, professional ethics practices, monitoring and evaluation capacity in the procurement function; and the effect ICT use proficiency on procurement function. The study used a cross sectional survey research design. Data was collected from a sample of 57 schools out of 134 schools. The respondents were 56 Principals, and 167 teachers who are committee members. Likert scale questionnaire contained closed ended questions whereas the open ended questions solicited more answers from the respondents. Data analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Descriptive analysis was used as well as inferential statistics which included Pearson’s correlation coefficient and ANOVA. Data which was categorical was presented as frequencies with their corresponding percentage. This study has described a number of topical issues related to procurement of goods, services and work in public secondary schools in Tinderet Sub-County. The results are outlined below. In summary, the first objective revealed that tender committees of public schools within Tinderet Sub-County have inadequate training on procurement regulations and procedures. The tender committee members highlighted that rigorous training be conducted on procurement procedures. For the second objective, the findings showed that professional ethical practices ought to be entrenched among members of the tender committee. From the findings the respondents agreed that this would go a milestone in combating such vices as partiality, conflict of interest as well as accepting gifts/bribes to influence tender processes. On the third objective, the researcher concludes, based on research findings, that even though ICT use has never been fully adopted for procurement in public schools, its implementation would lead to proper functioning of procurement functions and speeds up procurement activities and hence bring efficiency and integrity.  On the fourth objective the findings indicated that, while adopting Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks for procurement functions in schools, the Ministry of education should ensure that the procurement functions are monitored and evaluated frequently and appropriately. The Procurement Committee in Secondary Schools should establish a procurement committee in accordance to the Regulations mentioned above. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, should avail training opportunities for procurement committee members to enable them acquire knowledge and skills so as to be effective in procurement functions. Education should also emphasize to the schools the need to avail code of conduct and ethics to all procurement committee and teachers so as to reduce malpractices in procurement function. It is also recommended that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, should regularly on quarterly or yearly basis monitor and audit the procurement process by the secondary schools so as to take action in controlling any anomaly caused.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine the main issues which effect the economic growth and the poverty in Bulgaria in relation with rate of human capital growth.
The assumption that in the modern world poverty isn’t a concept associated with the shortage of income is grounded. At its core the poverty is an expression of lack of opportunities for the person. The interest in it is completely understandable, because poverty is perceived as the most important social problem, in which all significant existential questions and challenges to the social sciences are focused virtually.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to establish the determinants of public procurement procedures imple-mentation in universities in Kiambu County. Various countries have instituted procurement reforms involving laws and regulations. Procurement in Kenyan public universities has been recognized as essential in service delivery. The major obstacle, however, has been inadequate regulatory compliance. The study’s objectives were to find out the effect of strategic planning on implementation of public procurement procedures; the effect of organizational culture on implementation of public procurement procedures; the role of staff competence on implementation of public procurement procedures; the effect of top management support on implementation of public procurement procedures and to assess the effect of organizational culture on implementation of public procurement procedures by public universities. A conceptual framework was developed to guide the study. The study was grounded on Rational Model of Decision Making and Resource Dependence Theory. The study used descriptive survey design and sampled 21 participants. Questionnaires were used to collect data which was analyzed according to the research objectives. The study found out that the strategic planning, staff competence, support from top management and organizational culture plays an important role in enhancing implementation of procurement procedures in public universities. The study recommends that management of public universities to accord staff maximum support in order to enhance procurement procedures implementation. Top management also need to steer head cultural practices in their organizations and frequently monitor the practices so as to effectively manage them so as to boost its implementation of procurement procedures.

Abstract: This study aimed to find out the role of procurement in completion of public projects. The study sought to establish how various aspects of the procurement contribute to the completion of projects. The specific objectives of the study were; to find out the role of contract management on project completion in the energy sector in Kenya; to determine the role of bidding on project completion in the energy sector in Kenya; to find out the role of procurement planning on project completion in the energy sector in Kenya and to determine the role of scheduling on project completion in the energy sector in Kenya. The study adopted a case study research design. The target population of interest in this study consisted of 58 staff members at KenGen Tana branch in Murang’a County and precisely Supply chain department, Finance department, Operations management department, Administration department, Security and integrity department.This research adopted a stratified sampling technique in selecting the sample. The main instrument for data collection was structured questionnaires that allow for uniformity of responses to questions. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS. Descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, frequency distribution and percentages were used to summarize and present data. Pearson’s correlations coefficients was run to examine the relationship among the independent and the dependent study variables that are set out in the objectives of the study. The study findings indicated that change in project completion can be explained by four predictors namely contract management, bidding, procurement planning and project scheduling an implication that the remaining of the variation in project completion could be accounted for by other factors not considered in this study.  From the findings, it was established that KenGen had incorporated procurement function in project completion which involve performance targets, planning and control systems, monitoring and evaluation that generates good result. According to the research findings, procurement function was involved in project implementation. Effects of contract management, bidding, procurement planning and project scheduling were found to be statistically significant with a positive impact on project completion. The study recommends that procurement should be involved in all the stages and entire lifecycle of a project from initialization through contract administration to completion of projects.  Following the results of the study, it is evident to conclude that there is a positive relationship between procurement and project completion.

Abstract: Strategic Human Resource Management has become the buzz world today owing to its potential to bring forth result oriented management of the vital resources of an organization; the Human Resources. There has been many attempts to relate or rather prove the impact of SHRM practices upon the performance of various industries and this research paper is drafted depending on a study conducted on SHRM in operational NGOs in Kerala. Through this paper, an attempt is made to probe the way SHRM practices are being implemented in the NGOs by way of effective Talent Management. The analysis revealed a strong prevalence of SHRM practices especially with regard to Talent Management in the NGOs under study.

Abstract: The main purpose of this study was to analyse determinants of effective quality management. The specific objectives were to determine the effect of training on effective service delivery in public schools in West Pokot County, to determine the effect of leadership style on effective service delivery in public schools in West Pokot County, to evaluate the effect of employee remuneration on effective service delivery in public schools in West Pokot County and to determine the effect of employee motivation on effective service delivery in public schools in West Pokot County. The study adopted descriptive survey design to test the hypotheses. The target population for this study was 101 public primary schools. A sample of 28public schools was drawn from the population using stratified random sampling technique. A questionnaire and direct interview tools were used to gather data. Data collected was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study findings revealed that there was a significant relationship between training, employee remuneration, leadership style and employee motivation, and service delivery in public primary schools. The study is significant to the head teachers, educational officers and government who appreciate and understand the determinants of service delivery in public schools in West Pokot County.

Abstract: T.V. advertisements are powerful tools. Most advertisements portray glamorous or larger than life scenario which the teenagers end up watching and comparing with their own lives. It is an established fact that advertisements do influences the decision making process of the customers. Advertising has influence on purchase behavior. Advertising does not affect the viewers. If a message is repeated often enough, people will increasingly accept it. In the present study an attempt is made to find out whether education of the students have any bearing upon the purchasing  and other decisions of the students. More than 2000 students across different levels from Goa were surveyed to collect the data and tasted statistically which revealed that students in general are not carried away by the exaggerated, deceptive and any other form of advertising. The students have showed a great deal of maturity.

Abstract: This Paper is one of the most important papers which focus on Key Performance Indicators in relation with talent development which start to be the main focus of all companies and countries and most  researchers start working on the same subject to give more insights on it. This paper aim to explore the importance of Key Performance Indicators and its impact on Talent development and the advantages of using the performance management system especially in the large companies where there are difficulties in assessing employees’ performance. The importance of this research is the well develop and design comprehensive framework about the establishment, use and evolution of key performance indicators and how specialists can use the tools and implement process step by step with the highlighting of all challenges and limitations. The challenge is in the KPIs more than calculate the human capital ROI and Talent Development because it’s the hardest part where implementing such techniques can restructure all the organization from the bottom line. This level of extensiveness is the place the test exists much of the time, and where the profit of having a decent strategic plan is not completely figured it out. In short, it is a long between joined affix that needs to be concentrated on nearly part by part.

Abstract: The study aimed at analyzing the factors influencing non-teaching employees’ performance in Kitale National Polytechnic. Non-teaching employees play a significant role in achieving the goals of an institution. The study was guided by the following research objectives: -to examine the effect of training on non-teaching employee’s performance at Kitale National Polytechnic, to analyze the effect of organization culture on non-teaching employee’s performance at Kitale National Polytechnic, to determine the effect of working environment on non-teaching employee’s performance at Kitale National Polytechnic and to evaluate the effect of motivation on non-teaching employee’s performance at Kitale National Polytechnic. The study was conducted through a descriptive research design. Sixty one non-teaching employees of Kitale National Polytechnic were the target population. The whole population formed the sample size. A questionnaire was the main tool for primary data collection. Descriptive and inferential statistics and regression analysis were used in interpreting the collected data. The study will be able to answer the hurdles that non-teaching employees face while performing their tasks. The findings established in this study will create a path to improved performance of non-teaching employees not only in Kitale National Polytechnic but all the national polytechnics in Kenya.

Abstract: This study sought to determine the factors influencing implementation of strategic plans in Non-Governmental Organizations in Trans-Nzoia County. The specific objectives of the study were to; to investigate the influence of organizational leadership on strategic plans implementation in NGOs in Trans-Nzoia County; to establish the influence of organizational structure adopted by NGOs in Trans-Nzoia County on strategic plans implementation; to determine the effect of resource allocation on implementation of strategic plans in NGOs in Trans-Nzoia County. The researcher used descriptive research design to determine factors influencing implementation of strategic plans in NGOs in Trans-Nzoia County. The target population was 80 employees of 8 registered NGOs operating in Trans-Nzoia County. Top level managers, middle level managers and lower level employees were the respondents. Out of the 80 respondents 77 filled and returned the questionnaires. Primary data was collected using structured questionnaires. The data collected was analysed using simple descriptive statistics including percentages, and frequencies. On regression results, R squared was 0.755 hence there was variation of 75.5% on strategy implementation due to organizational leadership, organizational structure, and resource allocation at 95% confidence interval. The study established that organizational leadership, resource allocation and organizational structure significantly influence implementation of strategic plans in NGOs in Trans-Nzoia County. P-Values were organizational leadership, 0.000, resource allocation, 0.001 and organizational structure, 0.027. All these p-values were less than 0.05 hence significant. The study found that there was no adequate flow of information and communication; pet projects by top managers receive more resources; employees were not involved in decision making and employees were not given feedback. Due to the above finds the recommendations are: adjustment of organizational structures to allow free flow of information and communication; resource allocation to be geared towards the organization’s vision; and leadership to adopt leadership styles and practices that encourage employee participation. Also, the leadership should appraise employees regularly with an aim of giving feedback so as to improve their performance.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of mobile banking on customer satisfaction in selected banks in Trans-Nzoia County. The study was guided by the following objectives: -to establish the effect of reliability of mobile banking on customer satisfaction, to determine the effect of responsiveness of mobile banking on customer satisfaction , and to evaluate the effect of accessibility of mobile banking services on customer satisfaction in Trans-Nzoia County. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The target population was ten selected banks in Trans-Nzoia County. The study was guided by the; innovation diffusion theory, technology acceptance model (TAM), and theory of reasoned action (TRA). The study adopted the descriptive survey research design with the target population being the selected commercial banks personnel in Trans Nzoia County, totaling to 41 respondents. Census method was adopted since the target population was less than the minimum a hundred for sampling to be used for research. A structured questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument that was designed in a Likert scale format. Data analysis was carried out by use of regression and ANOVA using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 in order to statistically produce the relationship between the independent variables and dependent variable. From the findings, the researcher concluded that the regression effect was statistically significant indicating a reliable prediction of the dependent variable. The F calculated (F =39.96) greater than 5% level of significance thereby showing that  the model was significant where the independent variables explained 85% of the mobile banking customer satisfaction. The study was significant to the banking sector since mobile banking is a phenomenon that has taken off and can’t be washed away.
