Abstract: Photovoltaic power system has become most acceptable renewable energy system for rural areas that do not have access to grid system. This system was designed to supply electricity to Akodo which does not have access to the national grid network of power supply in Nigeria. Akodo, a community in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State, which is made up of about 150 houses and  requires about 89KW load which can be supply conveniently by the solar diesel system, is found to be more appropriate in this research work. The initial cost seemed to be on the high side, but on the long run the maintenance of the system which was very minute accorded the system significant advantage. It is now economical to embark on this research work which would be found to be highly beneficial.

Abstract: A pollutant of concern to the mankind is the exhaust sound which should be about 105dB in the internal combustion engine. However this sound can be reduced sufficiently by means of a well-designed silencer. The suitable design and development will improve the sound level, but at the same time the performance of the engine should not be hampered. Muffler design is an important research area for an automotive industry because new regulations and standards for noise emission are formed. To examine the performance of any muffler, certain parameters are used. These parameters are Numerical modal analysis, Experimental modal analysis. In this project both Numerical and Experimental Modal analysis (TATA INDICA car) The experiment conducted on thickness of existing muffler body by FFT analyzer.  Also numerous iterations are carried out by changing the thickness of muffler body, perforation of baffle plates. This methodology helps commercial users and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to design the silencer/muffler accordingly.

Abstract: The Dampers which is added to the building scheme without any interruption to the present constituent of the building. In past days retrofitting structures are use full in the construction field however a good understanding of restraints involvement to increase the structure capacities and decreasing the seismic demand in specifically to the design process. In this work consider the energy dissipating devices for seismic strengthening of 5 stories concrete structure in this study involves viscous damping devices of V Type and Inverted V Type dampers with different effective stiffness, to prevent building damage or collapse in major earthquake.

Abstract: Brick masonry infill although considered as non-structural element largely affects the strength, stiffness and ductility of the reinforced concrete frames during the application of lateral loads due to wind or earthquake. Contained masonry refers here to the brick masonry which is used as infill in a reinforced concrete frame, wound round with 8mm diameter mild steel wires in vertical and horizontal directions and stitched to the brick masonry as well as to the reinforced concrete frames. This thesis focuses on the seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete structures with contained masonry infill, with a particular interest in the development of rational procedures for the analysis and design of RC frames with contained masonry infill. The  estimation  of  the  natural  frequencies  of  the  structural  system  is  the  basic investigation in dynamic analysis of a structure. Therefore the analysis is primarily to find out the modal frequencies of the structure and to simulate the mathematical model to earthquake loads.  The structure vibrates in different modes when the earthquake takes place. The methodology suggested is to carry out a detailed study on the influence of contained masonry infill including un-reinforced masonry infill in multi-storey Reinforced Concrete frames on the fundamental natural frequencies and response due to various   earthquake excitation forces.  Numerical  Finite  element analysis  is  carried  out  on  two  dimensional  Reinforced  Concrete  Frames  under different configurations of contained masonry infill in addition to plain masonry and bare  frames.  The RC frames were designed and detailed  as  per relevant  Indian standard codes. The present work consists of study of the behaviour of five storeyed RC frames infilled with contained masonry and also infilled with plain masonry, subjected to various earthquake excitation forces.  Three types of models are considered for analysis; five storey frames of 4m wide, 5m wide and 6m wide models having total height of 16m with plain masonry infill and contained masonry infill are considered.

Abstract: Electricity supply has been erratic for a long while in Nigeria. The need for new energy sources had led to a number of alternatives, which have been unaffordable and unavailable due to huge cost and scarcity. In response to this, Fuelless generator was designed and developed using local materials. The driving mechanism of fuelless generator is the 1hp direct current motor, powered by a 12 volts battery, which spines the 0.95KW alternator to produce electricity, while recharging the battery by means of a diode. The fuelless generator has an output of 1KVA; it is pollution-free and eco-friendly.  The test unit was built in November, 2014 and has been tested to power offices in the department.

Abstract: Airfoil is a shape of wing or blade of (a propeller, rotor or turbine) by which a fluid generates an aerodynamic force. The component of this force perpendicular to the direction of its speed is called lift force and the component parallel to its speed is called drag forces. Here we see that if we set the angle of attack by 6 degree in fluid NACA0012 we found the aerodynamic forces with suitable positive result our research is totally based on iterations method and based on the help of cfd software. 

Abstract: It is a fact of common experience that a body in motion through a fluid experiences a resultant force which, in most cases is mainly a resistance to the motion. A class of body exists, However for which the component of the resultant force normal to the direction to the motion is many time greater than the component resisting the motion, and the possibility of the flight of an airplane depends on the use of the body of this class for wing structure. Airfoil is such an aerodynamic shape that when it moves through air, the air is split and passes above and below the wing. The wing’s upper surface is shaped so the air rushing over the top speeds up and stretches out. This decreases the air pressure above the wing. The air flowing below the wing moves in a comparatively straighter line, so its speed and air pressure remains the same. Since high air pressure always moves toward low air pressure, the air below the wing pushes upward toward the air above the wing. The wing is in the middle, and the whole wing is “lifted.” The faster an airplane moves, the more lift there is. And when the force of lift is greater than the force of gravity, the airplane is able to fly.

Abstract: This journal documents the effects of using steel fibres in Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) latex modified concrete. The study was carried out to record the different properties of steel fibre reinforced latex modified concrete such as compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength. Latex modified concrete is defined as Portland cement and aggregate combined at the time of mixing with polymers that are dispersed in water. This dispersion is called as latex. Polymer when used as an admixture can improve properties like higher strength and lower water permeability than the conventional concrete. Since, concrete is weak in tension, steel fibres have been added to concrete, to improve its characteristics in tension. The polymer concrete specimens with and without fibres and latex were cast and tested to watch the improvement of certain mechanical and physical properties like compressive strengths, tensile strengths, flexural strengths and workability. Styrene Butadiene Rubber Latex polymer and hooked end steel fibres have been used for our study. The percentage of steel fibre used were 0%,0.5%,0.75%,1%,1.25% at an interval of 0.25%. The fraction of steel fibre which gave the best result was taken and latex was varied in percentage 5%, 10%, 15% to obtain maximum strength. In all total 24 specimen cubes (150mm X 150 mm X 150 mm), 24 beam (500mm X 100mm X 100mm) and 24 cylinder specimens (150 mm X 300 mm) were made. The hardened properties of concrete were tested at 28th days.

Abstract: Modern machining methods are also known as Non Traditional machining methods. These methods form a group of processes which removes excess material by various techniques involving mechanical, thermal, electrical, chemical energy or combination of these energies. There is no cutting of metal with the help of metallic tool having sharp cutting edge. The major reasons of development and popularity of the modern machining methods are listed below.
 Need to machine newly developed metals and non-metals having some special properties like extremely high strength, high hardness and high toughness.  A Materials poising the above mentioned properties are difficult to be machined by the Conventional machining methods.
 Sometimes it is required to produce complex part geometries that cannot be easily produced by following conventional machining techniques .Non
Traditional machining methods also provide very good quality of surface finish, which may also be an encouragement of these methods. There can be a very long list of non-conventional machining methods. These methods can be classified as the basis of their base principle of working as given in the following section.

Abstract: Silicon carbide possesses ample reinforcing potential to be used as a filler material in polymer matrix composites. Successful fabrication of epoxy matrix composites reinforced with silicon carbide particles is possible by simple hand-lay-up technique. These composites possess very low amount of porosity and improved micro-hardness, also it provide slightly superior tensile, flexural and inter-laminar shear strengths than those of the neat epoxy.  This study reveals that silicon carbide possesses good filler characteristics as it improves the sliding wear resistance of the polymeric resin. Dry sliding wear characteristics of these composites have been gainfully analysed using a design-of-experiment approach based on Taguchi method. The analysis of experimental results shows that factors like filler content, sliding velocity and normal load, in this sequence, are identified as the significant factors affecting the specific wear rate of the composites under investigation. The silicon carbide-epoxy composites fabricated and experimented upon in this investigation are found to have adequate potential for a wide variety of applications particularly in wear prone environment. When wear is not the predominant degrading factor, epoxy without silicon carbide can be recommended. However, the weight fraction of filler in the composite is to be decided from the view point of required strength. If the place of use is hostile with sliding wear situations, then silicon carbide epoxy composites are to be preferred due to their fairly good wear resistance. Use of these composites may be suggested in applications like engineering structures in dusty environment and low cost building materials in desert.

Abstract: Robot manipulator is an essential motion subsystem component of robotic system for positioning, orientating object so that robot can perform useful task. The main objectives of this project are to design and implement a 4-DOF pick and place robotic arm. This project can be self-operational in controlling, stating with simple tasks such as gripping, lifting, placing and releasing. In this project, the focus is on 4-DOF articulated arm. Articulated arm consists of revolute joints that allowed angular movement between adjacent joint. Four servo motors were used in this project to perform four degree of freedom (4-DOF). There are numerous dimensions over which robotic arms can be evaluated, such as torque, payload, speed, range, repeatability and cost, to name a few. Robot manipulators are designed to execute required movements. Their controller design is equally important. The robot arm is controlled by a serial servo controller circuit board. The controller used for servo motor actuation is ATmega 16 Development board.

These barriers may be of market, cultural, human resource.management, financial, economical, attitudinal, environmental, geographical and technological type. Technology transfer barriers threats the movement of physical structure, knowledge, skills, organization value and capital from the developed to developing countries. Clear understanding of these barriers may help the practitioners to find out various ways to deal with them. This may further facilitate successful implementation of technology transfer. Technology transfer may be said to be successful if Transferor (seller) and the transferee (buyer) can effectively utilize the technology for business gain. The transfer involves cost and expenditure that should be agreed by the transferee and transferor. The process is affected by various factors that hinder Technology Transfer. These factors named Barriers. In the present work, Interpretive Structure Modeling (ISM) is used for the analysis and comparison of various factors important for Technology Transfer. The important parameters are identified and self-interaction matrixes proposed with the help of Interpretive Structure Modeling which evaluates the inhibiting power of these parameters. This index can be used in comparison of different factors responsible for Roller Burnishing Processes.

Abstract: The heavy commercial vehicles are equipped with under-run protection devices (UPD) to enhance safety of occupants in small vehicles in the event of under-run. These UPD are popularly classified as RUPD (rear under-run protection devices), SUPD (side under-run protection devices), and FUPD (front under-run protection devices). These devices primarily work to improve safety of smaller vehicles by changing its interaction with heavy vehicles thereby resulting in change in small vehicle structural engagement for energy absorption. Without UPD, smaller vehicle passenger compartment is likely to interact with stiff commercial vehicle chassis frame structures.

Abstract: Rain drops possesses kinetic energy as they descend gradually from the clouds. This kinetic energy can be utilized to generate electricity by use of piezoelectric materials. This paper illustrates the behavior and the procurable energy of the raindrops. A prototype to harness energy theoretical and experimentally study is also made. The material used is PVDF (Polyvinylidene Difluoride).the simulation of rainfall drop deflection is done by ANSYS.

Abstract: This paper investigates the study of workability and durability characteristics of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) with Viscosity Modifying Admixture (VMA), and containing   fly ash. The mix design for SCC was arrived as per the Guidelines of European Federation of National Associations Representing for Concrete (EFNARC). In this investigation, SCC was made by usual ingredients such as cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, water, mineral admixture fly ash and demolished concrete at various replacement levels (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%). To enhance the property of SCC made with the use of demolish concrete and fly ash, glass fiber has been added to the mix. Glass fiber in various % (i.e. 0.15%, 0.20% 0.30%, of Wt. of cement) has been added in the mix which contain demolish concrete and gave highest strength i.e. (10% demolish concrete).

Abstract: In the present study based on the previous literature review a paper is prepared on the optimization of HTV fuel tank assembly. The design of automotive components is a challenging process due to the complex set of requirements that influence the automobile life cycle. The structural three dimensional solid modeling of an automobile fuel tank assembly was developed using the computer aided drawing software. The finite element analysis was then performed during NASTRAN. The primary aspect of this project is to change the design of fuel tank assembly and optimize it. Which are deals with the mounting location of fuel tank, mounting brackets stiffener and stress analysis of empty and full filled tank.

Abstract:  This project was discussed about the design and implementation of automated multiple water filling machine using Geneva mechanism. Generally, the function of the machine is to fill the water automatically into bottles through a moving bottle plate. This project is the combination of Geneva and electrical syncronous motor system. This project is divided into four sections, the loading section, the bottle plate section and filling section, where the whole sections is controlled by Geneva. The entire system is more flexible and time saving.

Abstract: Self compacting concrete (SCC) was first developed in 1988 in Japan to achieve durable concrete structures. As SCC has various advantage over normal concrete, it also posses a major disadvantage i.e it is uneconomical. Therefore, in this dissertation work emphasis has been laid to reduce the cost of the SCC without reducing the strength of the SCC, hence by-product which are available cheaply and easily i.e recycled aggregate (demolish concrete and fly ash) has been used to reduce the manufacturing cost without reducing the strength of SCC. Hence in this work demolished concrete in various % (I.e 5%, 10%, 15%&20% of T.C.A) has been used as partial replacement of coarse aggregate and fly ash with 45% replacement of cement has been used. To enhance the property of SCC made with the use of demolish concrete and fly ash, polypropylene fiber has been added to the mix. Polypropylene fiber in various % (i.e 0.1%, 0.15%&0.20% of Wt. of cement) has been added in the mix which contain demolish concrete and gave highest strength i.e (10% demolish concrete).

Abstract:  This paper deals with the study of Tumble flow on a Steady State Flow Rig. Recently stratified charge lean burn engines and gasoline direct injection engines (GDI) are being developed in order to reduce CO2 emission. In these combustion concept, tumble or inclined axis swirl is required not only to enhance turbulence intensity before combustion but, also to control mixture stratification and air-fuel concentration distribution. Tumble flow is the flow of charge along a line perpendicular to the vertical axis of the cylinder. Its mainly depend upon inlet port design, piston head design shrouding of valve and orientation of inlet port. There are various methods used to calculate the tumble flow, which are PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry), PTV (Particle Tracking Velocimetry), LDA (Laser Doppler Anemometry) and Steady State Flow Rig. Here we are concentrating on the Steady State Flow Rig with a paddle wheel arrangement. This test rig helps in designing suitable intake ports. This test rig measures the tumble in terms of paddle wheel RPM in accordance with the valve lift. Working principle of this test rig and its limitations are studied.

Abstract: Specimens are prepared for performing experiment. Four Aluminium specimen having dimensions 450 mm x 40 mm x 10 mm is prepared. Then out of four specimens one specimen is kept notch free. On second one specimen a notch on entire width and longitudinal distance of 90 mm from free end is prepared. Similarly third and fourth specimen have notch on 120 mm and 150 mm from free end respectively. We have to observed the impact of crack on cantilever beam of length 390 mm, 340 mm and 290 mm, and We also determined the effect of position of artificially generated notch (90 mm, 120 mm and 150 mm from free end). During the experiment our main motive is to measure the velocity of vibration (V) at different longitudinal distance from free end of the cantilever beam ranging from 50 mm to 250 mm at an interval of 50 mm. Frequency of vibration is kept constant during the process. After one complete reading, process is repeated for different required frequency. Since we have to find the crack Development rate on the observed velocity of vibration that’s why we have to develop a relation between velocities of vibration with crack Development rate.Here relation is found out by using Buckingham Pie Theorem. The variables considered for the analysis is, velocity of vibration (V), force per cross sectional area (W), distance of crack from fixed end (B), frequency of the force per fixing length (F), distance of accelerometer from free end (D) and Crack Development per unit time (G).As mentioned above, total number of variables considered for present investigation is, ‘6’. Three out of 6 variables are considered as fundamental variables and a functional relationship is established as Φ (V, W, D, F, B, G) = 0. The derived groups are, V/(D².F), B/D and G/(D².F). The relationship obtained using Buckingham Pi Theorem as, G/(D².F) = f (B/D, V/D².F).Crack Development rate for cantilever specimen at different length 390 mm, 340 mm, 290 mm are calculated at frequency of 60 Hz, 80 Hz, 100 Hz, 120 Hz. Also at each frequency Crack Development rate is measured at an Accelerometer distance of 50 mm, 100 mm, 150 mm, 200 mm and 250 mm from free end.

Abstract:  A power tiller is a mechanized agricultural implement popularly used to save time, human efforts and fuel in preparation of soil bed. In this paper presents the design and fabrication of maintenance free and efficient 3.5HP lightweight power tiller. However, under complex abrasive environment, tiller blades are subjected to extreme surface wear, particularly in dry sand which considerably affects its service life. Our aim of this paper is to improve service life of the tiller blade. Working of transmission system is based on chain sprocket mechanism to reduce cost. Different component of machine are modeled by using modeling software CATIA V5R21. The developed model is useful for agricultural industry especially developing countries.

Abstract: The global increasing demand for refrigeration in field of refrigeration, food preservation, storages, medical services, and cooling of electronic devices, led to production of more electricity and consequently more release of CO2 all over the world which it is contributing factor of global warming on climate change. With the increase awareness towards environmental degradation due to the production, use and disposal of Chloro Fluoro Carbons (CFCs) and Hydro Chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) as heat carrier fluids in conventional refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Thermoelectric refrigeration is new alternative because it can convert waste electricity into useful cooling, is expected to play an important role in today's energy challenges. It does not require working fluids or any moving parts, which is friendly to the environment and it simply uses electrons rather than refrigerants as a heat carrier. Continuous efforts are given by researchers for development of thermo electric materials with increase figure of merit may provide a potential commercial use of thermoelectric refrigeration system.
In this work it has been identified that there is enormous scope to develop TER system running on solar energy and its performance evaluation along with mathematical modeling. Mathematical results can be correlate by performing experimental test set up. Present paper especially focuses on evaluation of numbers of thermoelectric cooling module; heat sink fan assembly for each module which is used to increase heat dissipation rate and time required for attaining the cooling of heat sink fan assembly after a solar power is applied.

Abstract: Heat pipe are high-efficient heat transfer devices and have been widely applied in various thermal systems. Since heat pipe utilize the phase change of the working fluid to transport the heat, the selection of working fluid is of essential importance to promote the thermal performance of heat pipe. Owing to the heat transfer enhancement effect of nanofluid in the single phase and phase change heat transfer, some researchers have applied various nanofluids in heat pipe as the working fluids to enhance their heat transfer performance.

Abstract: Gear roll testers are used to measure and analyse functional performance of gears. Gear testing is a technique that has been used in the gear industry to identify potential manufacturing defects in the design intent of the gear. It is a practical, fast and effective screening tool that can identify when the gear manufacturing process has deviated from an ideal condition that could result in a change in backlash, or an unwanted noise and vibrations in a gear mesh therefore, in the present work it was decided to develop a gear roll tester to analyse effects of different types of defects in gear on its functional performance in terms of run out, pitch errors, backlash, profile errors, noise and vibration. For the present work a spur was selected with the specifications matching with the gear used in automobiles. A test rig was designed and developed for the functional testing of spur gears. Various components were designed and selected according to the standard design procedure. The test rig was fabricated with very high accuracy. Gears with different types of defects were tested on the test rig to ensure the accuracy of it. This test rig is an important tool to the gear manufacturer to test the gears for their functional performance. The test rig can be used further to analyse noise and vibrations along with a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analyser.

Abstract: The project consists of locking the reverse wheel such that it will constraint the reverse motion of the vehicle with the help of ratchet and pawl mechanism. The movement of the pawls will be controlled with the help of the linear actuators. A push button will be provided on steering of the vehicle which will be operated by the driver on choice.

Abstract:  The rear axle has a housing, tubes for the axle shafts, a final drive (including the differential with reduction gears), and the axle shafts. The rear axle is joined to the frame or body of the motor vehicle (to the supporting body if the motor vehicle has no frame) by a suspension. The rear axle test rig machine is used for testing the braking system of rear axle. The existing machine does not have any mechanism for applying brake. The brake is applied manually and higher force is required for pulling the brake cable. The force applied is in backward direction with the help of hand and applying tensile force on it. More cycle time is required for performing work in existing system. Manual operation increases the operator fatigue. The modified rear axle test rig machine consists of handbrake assembly, clamping fixture (dowel pin), cable fixture, stud, L shaped plates etc. The brake is applied by handbrake by pulling it in upward direction causing tension in wire. The modified rear axle machine reduces cycle time and increases safety for workers. The proper tension in wire helps for proper braking and the tension in wire can be adjusted with help of dowel pin.

Abstract: Now days the world faces fuel crisis and pollution problem. Also the conventional fuels are about to end in some years. This necessitates the search for alternative fuels. Compressed air is one of the best alternative fuels which are easily available in atmosphere in abundant form. The main objective of this project is to reduce dependency of vehicle on conventional fuel. The air car is a car currently being developed which is still in the R&D stage all over the world. Compressed air is stored in storage tank with some modifications from the compressor. The pneumatic motor (vane type motor) is used to convert pressure energy into mechanical energy. The rotation of air motor is controlled by controlling the air flow with the help of air gun (flow control valve). The gear box is provided at the end of motor shaft for increasing torque capacity of vehicle. Unlike conventional transmission system includes clutch, counter shaft, flywheel, propeller shaft, differential, our pneumatic motor is coupled to the rear wheel with intermediate gear box which greatly reduces the transmission losses and weight of vehicle. The running and maintenance cost for air car is less than conventional cars. This is a revolutionary design which is not only eco friendly, pollution free but also very economical. With some modifications in storage tank, pneumatic motor, materials used for chassis it is possible to increase the performance of vehicle.

Abstract:This Kinematic linkage of internal cylindrical surface is need  for cutting the elliptical as well as cylindrical surface .The cost required for these type of machines is less as compared the conventional milling machine. Kinematic linkage mechanism is based on four bar linkage mechanism is converted into internal cylindrical boring & shape. Double worm drive is used to drive the worktable in circular manner as well as elliptical manner. Worm gear pair ensure that is zero backlash. Adjustable crank mechanism is used for increase the range or the radius of circle traced by the worktable .speed required for machine can easily vary by using speed regulator for large plant but small plant we can easily change the motor.

Manufacture of product in desired shape with desired characteristics and properties depend not only on design of product but also on selection of appropriate manufacturing process. This paper describes process selection methodology, cycle time calculation machine selection.
This paper i.e. Process Design and Development of Engine Block is related to process design. When a company has to introduce number of products, once decision on design and product is made then, one of the crucial step that the company has to take is how to manufacture that product, comes under process design. Process design tells us thoroughly how product is made, which machines are used, cutting parameter etc.
The purpose of this process is to design process for engine block with weekly production at 3 blocks without affecting existing production of KV block with capacity of 113 blocks per week, arrange flow of part at shop floor in order to minimize the loss of time. Scheduling in production management is therefore very basic function in manufacturing and it has to be well match with process planning.

Abstract: Aim of this project is to remove the oily effluent from the waste water. Pollution has created lot of problems in industries. By removing the oil from waste water, it becomes free of oil pollutions. Oil skimmers are commonly found in three types: weir, oleophilic and non-oleophilic. Oleophilic skimmers are distinguished not by their operation but by the component used to collect the oil (rope, disk, belt or drum). It can remove even a thin floating film of oil from the water. This is mainly due to the “oleophilic material” used in the belt. A free floating endless belt oil skimmer was developed as means of recovering spilled oil from surface water. The skimmer utilizes a unique high efficiency belt which is driven by motor. By removing oil we can preprocess water for other use. This can avoid water wastage and control pollution due to oil spillage. In current world scenario most of the oil from the industries goes wasted into ponds, rivers and sea. So, national and international environmental norms are getting strict day by day.  It is economical to manufacture a low cost machine to meet these norms.

Abstract: Decreasing the size of internal combustion engines (ICE) is already recognized as a very suitable method for the enhancement of the indicated fuel conversion efficiency (IFCE) and lowering of the CO2 and NOx emissions. The decrement of size is implemented by means of Atkinson cycle engines, using normal crank mechanism, combined with a turbocharging, fuel ionizers and electrostatic fluid acceleration at inlet. This will allow increase of Internal Combustion Engine performance. The electrostatic fluid acceleration will prevent the back flow of fuel in the inlet port. The electrostatic setup involves charged combustion chamber. That will decrease the turbocharger work in short increased efficiency.

Abstract: The research paper gives the study about the fracture behavior of the rapid prototyping polymer material- Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). The present work is performed for fracture analysis with experimental as well as finite element method. In this research, 9 specimens of ABS was produced by FDM technique, all of having different crack length and infill (parameter of FDM). The shape & size of specimen is selected as per ASTM D 5045. Experiment for fracture testing is conducted to measure stress intensity factor (SIF) and crack mouth opening displacement (CMOD) for each & every specimen. Then fracture analysis have been done in FEM software- ANSYS and the comparison have been done for both results data for analysis.

Abstract: Although solar plate are being used from very long ago in the world for generation of power in non-conventional form, but still there is hording of improving efficiency of the currently available stationery solar plates. Solar plate indexing system is also one of such efforts made to improve efficiency of solar power extraction. Survey data say that very few days are left when the all reserves will nearly deplete i.e. till 2050 all the reserves of petroleum products which are available under earth will vanish. Therefore, human being is very much worried about the future energy sources. Aiming the improvement of the efficiency of current energy generating equipment’s we have designed to index the solar plate according to the solar track so that perpendicular rays could fall on the plates. We have used 5 watt, 1550 rpm motor to rotate the shaft on which our solar plate is mounted. Electronic cyclic timers have been used to index the plate in the span of 1200  in the duration if 8 hours a day. On-off switch have been used to start the cycle of rotation of plate. Sunrise and sunset limiting switches have been used to decide the pan of the solar plate. After testing the indexed plate solar system on the real ground we have found the result that current stationery plate after charging for 8 hours in the full sunny-day can give uses of 4 hour whereas our indexed plate on charging for the same duration can deliver 6 hour of service. This result is really encouraging and improving the efficiency of current solar plates

Abstract: In this project, we use diffused light polariscope for studying various complex geometries of crane hook. For this entire study, we select four different types of hooks which are used in crane for lifting purpose. Crane Hooks are highly liable components and are always subjected to failure due to accumulation of large amount of stresses which can eventually lead to its failure. To study the stress pattern, the different acrylic models of crane hook are loaded in diffused light polariscope. The stress distribution pattern is verified for its correctness on ANSYS software. By predicting the stress concentration area, the shape of the crane is modified to increase its working life and reduce the failure rates. By observing the stress pattern in acrylic models, we calculate the stress concentration factor for different geometries. After comparing the acrylic models on the basis of stress concentration factor, we find that which one is best geometry out these four selected geometries for various lifting load conditions.

Abstract: This paper describes the experimental optimization of capillary tube for choosing best suitable capillary in domestic refrigerator and comparison in performance of two different refrigerants (R134a and R600a). This experiment deals with optimization performance testing for a domestic refrigerator using experimental method.

Abstract:The worm & worm wheel is used in gear box of Winch machine for lifting sand bucket. During working worm wheel fails due to load coming on the teeth. The failure is due to stress concentration. The crack appears at central thickness of tooth. Hence the tooth breaks at the central thickness. The failure of wheel occurs within period of about 20 days. So the company has to replace the worm wheel which is not cost effective. The stress calculation of worm wheel at tooth thickness is a three dimensional problem. This paper represents the review of analysis of stress pattern by using 3D Photo elasticity techniques & FEA technique.

Abstract:This paper describes about the design and fabrication of various parts of a groundnut decorticator/ sheller. Overall, this machine involves processes like design, fabrication and assembly of different components etc. In India, Agriculture is the backbone. In India, groundnut is grown on a small scale by farmer. The major hurdle in the groundnut production in India is the inavailability or lack of groundnut processing machines available to farmer. In the beginning the peanuts were separated from its shells by the workers manually. The output from this method was very less and could not satisfy the market demand as it was very time taking process. Research-work for design, manufacture, and performance evaluation of a groundnut decorticator/sheller consisting of feeder hopper with a flow rate control device, shelling unit, separating unit and power system. Our main intension was to make such a machine, whose productivity is high & machine gets operated on 1 H.P. electric. The fresher and small farmer or business man can start business by investing less capital.

Abstract: In the forging process, defects cause high rejection rates so it is important to move any production process in the direction of eliminating all imperfections as a part of an effective continuous improvement program. During the process it is observed that the three process parameters having major responsibility to fill the job weight. These parameters are- billet weight, heating temperature, and heating time. The best combination of these process parameters must be followed during the production process in order to reduce the rejection rate due to unfilling forging defect. The range of heating process time is define to avoid the overheating process of billets. The homogeneity in microstructure and mechanical properties of forging products can highly affect the performance of the product during its service. So the billet was sorted according to the temperature to reduce the rejection rate and the die life. The accept reject system for sorting the billet according to its temperature using pneumatic actuation technique is developed to overcome the forging defects and increases the die life.

Abstract: India is a country which is abundant in natural resources; the substantial availability of renewable energy sources in the form of solar, hydropower and wind energy can provide opportunities of sustainable energy based development. The Indian government began to pay more attention to wind energy utilization in rural areas. Because the wind energy resource in many rural areas is sufficient for attractive application of wind pumps, and as fuel is insufficient, the wind pumps will be spread on a rather large scale in future.

Abstract:  The main aim objective of this project is to make use of I.C. engine technology for development of agro product for purpose of fumigation. We also wish to make this product with minimum cost and with high cost effectiveness. This will result in welfare and upliftment of farmer. We believe that with hard work and determination we can make a magnificent project, which will be beneficial for agro society as a whole. We also have faith that with advanced techniques and knowledge we can use this project for various other applications.

Abstract: The shearing machine and bending machine is most important in sheet metal industry. This machine should be used for straight cutting machine with wide application. But in some industry hand sheet cutter and hand bender are used. For that machine to operate the human effort are required. The machine should be simple to operate and easy to maintain, hence we tried out to develop the Pneumatic Shearing and Bending Machine.
In shearing operation as the punch descends upon the metal, the pressure exerted by the punch first cause the plastic deformation of the metal. Since the clearance between the punch and the die is very small, the plastic deformation takes place in a localized area and the metal adjacent to the cutting edges.
In bending operation the bend has been made with the help of punch which exerts large force on the work clamped on the die. The bending machine is designed in such a way that, it works automatically. The machine is designed by observing the factors to improve the efficiency and to reduce the cycle time by producing quality output. Automation of machine is achieved with the help of pneumatic system.
This paper involves the design of an efficient system which reduces the human effort and help to increase production output. It also includes pneumatic system, pneumatic component and shearing die and bending die.

Abstract: Gaseous fuels such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) have been widely used in commercial vehicles. This project evaluated an experimental investigation on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as an alternative fuel for four-stroke spark ignition engine. The primary objective of the study was to determine the performance and the exhaust emissions of the engine using different fuels. The engine used in the study was originally a single cylinder, four-stroke spark ignition engine and minor modifications were carried out to permit the experiments to run on LPG fuel. During the running, the engine was coupled to a ropeway dynamometer to measure several engine performance parameters and a 5-gas analyzer with non-dispersive infra-red (NDIR) was inserted into the engine exhaust tailpipe for measuring the exhaust emissions. Experimental investigations have been carried out to performance and emissions of single cylinder four-stroke spark ignition engine at full throttling position of engine and different load conditions is used to different fuels (Gasoline and LPG) at various compression ratios (4.67:1,5.49:1).The engine performance studies were conducted with engine setup. Parameters like brake power, brake fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency were calculated. The test result indicated that LPG fuel have closer performance to Gasoline fuel. However, the brake specific energy consumption shows an improvement with LPG as a fuel replacement. The concentration levels of CO, CO2 and unburnt HC recorded are found to be lower than the gasoline fueled engine.

Abstract: The art of refining liquid hydrocarbons (crude oil) into diesel, gasoline, and fuel oils was commercially scaled decades ago. Unfortunately, refineries are technologically limited to accepting only a very narrow range of liquid hydrocarbons with very specific properties and minimal contaminates. Unrecyclable, hydrocarbon-based waste is a significant environmental problem increasing every year. According to the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2010Facts and Figures report, over 92% of waste plastic is not recycled and with a growth rate of approximately 8% per year, there exists a critical need for a viable and environmentally sound, general purpose hydrocarbon-based recycling process. Hydrocarbon streams that fall outside of accepted refinery standards have traditionally been land filled or melted into products of low value. Environmental concern and availability of petroleum fuels have caused interests in the search for alternate fuels for internal combustion engines. Conversion of waste to energy is one of the recent trends in minimizing not only the waste disposal but also could be used as an alternate fuel for internal combustion engines. Waste plastics are indispensable materials in the modern world and application in the industrial field is continually increasing. In this context, waste plastics are currently receiving renewed interest. In the present paper waste plastic pyrolysis oil, waste plastic pyrolysis oil of petrol grade and diesel grade and its blend with diesel and petrol respectively has been introduced as an alternative fuel. In this study, a review of research papers on various operating parameters have been prepared for better understanding of operating conditions and constrains for waste plastic pyrolysis oil of both grade fuel and its blends fuelled in compression and spark ignition engine.
