Abstract: Table banking is a concept that has gained popularity in the recent past in Kenya. The aim of this kind of informal banking is to enhance the socio-economic status of citizens particularly those from poor areas of the country. However, measuring and tracking changes in the levels of socio-empowerment of households through table banking not yet well established, although it’s becoming popular among women groups in Kenya. The main objective of this study was to determine the contributions of table banking to socio-economic empowerment of households in Turkana County, Kenya. The specific objectives was: to assess the influence of table banking awareness on socio-economic empowerment of households, The study is guided by group joint liability theory, capability theory and Social Capital theory. The study adopted the descriptive survey design where data was collected by use of interviews and questionnaires to get primary data. Secondary data was used to validate the primary data. The study involved a sample of 398 members drawn using simple random sampling from a population of 67,500 Table banking members from Kalobeyei and Kakuma- Turkana West Sub-County. A total of 398 questionnaires were administered, this means the response rate was 97.0%.  Furthermore, a regression equation model was developed to test the relationships between variables.  From the findings, the variables respectively indicated their positive relationship. Therefore, the study exhibited a very strong, positive and significant relationship statistically between table banking and socio-economic empowerment of households. From the findings, the study has been observed that continuous and in-depth training of all table banking groups to enhance their skills especially related to financial management and presentation of the groups. The study also recommends that key stakeholders and both National and County government should consider to seek ways of empowering households with other socio-economic activities and programmes to boost their daily financial access. The study also recommends the government, table banking groups and other stakeholders involved in women empowerment should evaluate and improve table banking services in Kenya. Credits accessed in table banking group should be given clarity on repayment schedule and periods together with interest rate charged on credit. Lastly the several upcoming studies should be done to extract more information on relationship between table banking practice and engagement of households in business (small enterprises).

Abstract: A major objective of the 21^st century is the spread of digital technology. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been implemented in schools to improve overall education system in India. In this study, the researcher found out the current status of ICT and problems of its implementation in secondary and higher secondary schools belonging to Ramnagar-1 Dev. Block in Purba Medinipur district. This descriptive type research was conducted in 18^th secondary schools through interview on students and subject teachers, questionnaires on ICT School Coordinators and surveys in ICT lab. The paper highlights various external and internal problems that are barriers the fulfillment of ICT’s functional objectives. To ICT implementation in schools is the main responsibility of ICT School Coordinators but proper use of ICT is not happening due to their involvement in multitasking in schools, lack of regular training, inadequate remuneration and unwillingness of school’s authorities. The researcher seeks to improve the ICT education system in the secondary schools located in this area through many effective recommendations. Proper implementation and development of ICT in schools is possible by overcoming the problems with effective cooperation of central and state governments, non-governmental agencies, local administrations and school administration.

Abstract: The study investigates the nature and nurture on senior secondary school students in learning the Igbo language, Aba education zone. Expost-facto research design was adopted. The target population for the study comprised of all senior secondary school student. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 8 schools and 30 students were selected from each of the schools which gave a total of 240 respondent used for the study. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire titled: “Nature, Nurture and Learning of Igbo Language Questionnaire (NNLILQ)”. Face and content validation of the instrument was carried out by an expert in test, measurement, and evaluation in order to ensure that the instrument has the accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness for the study under consideration. The reliability coefficient obtained was 0.87, and this was high enough to justify the use of the instrument. The researcher subjected the data generated for this study to appropriate statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics meant to answer the research questions and simple regression analysis meant to test the hypothesis. The test for significance was done at 0.05 alpha levels. From the data analysis the results reveals that there is significant influence of nature and nuture on senior secondary school students as regards learning the Igbo language.  The study concludes that genetics plays a role in language development, and some children may be predisposed to certain language abilities or difficulties. However, the environment in which a child grows up and the experience they have also play a significant role in language development. The study recommends that parents and the people around the children should interact with them in Igbo language during early development.

Abstract: The intricate notion of land ownership and possession in the present era significantly diverges from what was typically observed within the traditional Benin Community—an intriguing variation that emanates from the beliefs and idiosyncrasies deeply ingrained within the Benin populace. This particular investigative analysis endeavors to meticulously examine and intricately compare the Benin customary land tenure system with the renowned Land Use Act of 1978—a harmonious fusion of theory and practice. By employing a supremely judicious doctrinal approach, this comprehensive and scholarly study ardently pursues to astutely ascertain whether the land use Act wholeheartedly eradicated the provisions that were profoundly entrenched within the Benin customary land tenure System—an inquiry brimming with anticipation. Astonishingly, the findings that conspicuously come to fruition vividly indicate that despite the audacious implementation of the Land Use Act, the resilient bonds and age-old traditions of the Benin community continue to exert their dominance, thereby conferring upon them their inalienable rights to the cherished and highly coveted use and dominion over land—a testament to their resolute endurance. Abstract: The new education system in Kenya requires a child or learner to moves from one grade to another. This transition poses new experiences as well as challenges some of which are building up from previous grade. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of teaching and learning resources on pupil’s transition from lower grade to upper grade in public primary schools in Sotik Sub-County. The target population of the study was 165 head teachers, 1178 teachers and 5300 grade five pupils to give a total of 6643 target population. The study randomly selected 377 respondents using Nuausima’s (2000) formula for calculating the sample sizes where 9 head teachers were purposely selected for the study while 67 teachers and 301 grade five pupils were randomly chosen. The data was collected using both questionnaires and interview schedule as well as observation checklist. The data was analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative approach. The study concludes that teaching and learning resources influence pupil’s transition hence emphasis should be put so that teachers becomes creative so as to transfer the same knowledge to the learners. The unavailability of teaching and learning resources is a major setback in the teaching of CBC in primary schools which interns affects learner’s acquisition of relevant skills required of them to transits from one grade to another.

Abstract: This paper was born from the researcher’s inquisitiveness in prying into such discourses in the Bible that seem to pose so much philosophical concern, which has led to many psychological semantic and theological arguments in the scholastic realm of beliefs. The purpose of delving into this area, then, is in view to demystify the accurate meaning of the response of Jesus Christ when he said, “I never knew you,” thus helping young preachers of the word and, indeed, scholars avert possible future misapplication of the passage and to further recommend to the contemporary Christians the possible ways of averting such scenario in the imminent post-generational judgment and reign of the Lord. The researcher keenly used the best articulate methods for arriving at the preconceived goal, so the study utilized the descriptive exegetical method via historical-grammatical and lexical syntactical tools to analyze the verses of the text.

Fantastic discoveries were realized, which assert that what they claimed intimacy with Christ is just what He repudiates and with a certain scornful dignity. This means then that his acquaintance with the impostors was not broken off- but they have never at any point in time known the Lord via belief, confession, repentance, and salvation. This heightened the researcher’s curiosity, culminating in suggesting some physical, social, spiritual, and ethical implications for contemporary Christians. Finally, the researcher recommended that contemporary Christians must not allow themselves to be overdriven with a fervent passion for miraculous works, prophecies, and demonic exorcisms that outweigh the central focus befitting called people of God that will witness to the redemptive work of Christ.

Abstract: English language teaching is essential for students of all ages, even adults. Adult learners can acquire new languages, and one strategy that can help them enhance their language skills is by telling short stories. In recent years, storytelling has emerged as a powerful tool for EFL adult learners to enhance their speaking abilities as educators strive to find innovative teaching methods that foster language fluency and vocabulary acquisition. As a teaching method, retelling short stories can be a highly effective way to promote active learning and student engagement, enabling adult EFL learners to develop their language skills through a process of exploration, experimentation, and reflection. This study is intended to investigate the effects of retelling short stories on the speaking abilities of Turkish intermediate EFL adult learners. The research aimed to explore how retelling short stories affects the speaking abilities of twenty adult prep school EFL learners between 18 and 25 years old. The experimental group participated in story retelling sessions for 8 weeks, while the control group solely read the same stories without engaging in retelling sessions. The study used a quantitative research approach, and data was collected through a pre-test and post-test. The results of the research clearly demonstrate that the regular practice of retelling short stories significantly enhanced the speaking abilities of intermediate EFL learners in Turkey, confirming the efficacy of this technique for language learning.

Abstract: The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of Women Empowerment on Sustainable community development in Kakamega County, Kenya. The specific objectives of the study was to assess the effect of women involvement on Sustainable community development in Kakamega County, Kenya. The study was guided by the empowerment theory and Women empowerment theory. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The target population was 3648 respondents comprising of Chairpersons of all the respective registered women groups in Kakamega County. The sample size was 36 respondents through Yemen formulae. Data collection instrument will be structured questionnaires. A structured questionnaire used to collect the primary data collection instrument. Piloting will be done to test both the reliability and validity of the research instrument. Content validity will be used to measure the validity of the instrument. It relied on the knowledge of the experts who are familiar with the subject matter being measured. Cronbach’s alpha used to measure the reliability of the questionnaire by providing the internal consistency during a pilot study done to 36 registered women groups in Bungoma County.  The regression model used to analyse the data obtained to investigate the relationship between the variables. Based on the findings, the study concluded that women involvement has a significant effect on sustainable community development in Kakamega County, Kenya β₁=0.372, p value= 0.000). The relationship was considered significant since the p value 0.000 was less than the significant level of 0.05. The study came up with the following recommendations; the community should not hold women back from contributing to important economic activities in the society by not allowing discrimination and inequality is an integral part of the socio-economic project of transformation. They should encourage women involvement and participation to dialogue and collaboration with community members since wide and active participation from community members will result in a good decision made in the development programme and that the more community members are involved, the more people will get empowered for best strategy of ensuring improved community and better livelihoods for global citizens and maximum social benefits to communities. The study is significant to various stakeholders involved with Sustainable community development and to the researcher as well.

Abstract: The study set out to anatomize the menace of gender inequality and its ripple effect on human development in Borno State. The survey research method was adopted using key informant interview as instrument to elicit information from the respondents. Findings from the analysis of the data gathered have proven that human development is undermined by gender inequality in the aspect of educational development, healthcare service delivery and skill acquisition opportunities in Borno State. Such factors among others that often contribute to gender inequalities include the norms and value systems of the people, unhealthy cultural practices, ignorance, illiteracy and religion. Findings further unveils that human development is not given much priority in Borno State, judging from the fact that the female folk in Borno State are still been marginalized, suppressed and their male counterparts still exercise high position of dominance and control over the females, which has a ripple effect on the pace of human development in the Borno State. The study therefore recommends advocating for the domestication of the National Gender Policy 2006, identity possible causes of the continuous resistance from accepting gender equality similarly, gender mainstreaming should be adopted in all policy makers programming. Finally, Government should pay more attention to educational policies that enhance more female enrolment, participation in educational institutions and literacy to enhance women contribution to the growth and transformation in Nigeria.

Abstract: The study looked at Kenyan county governments' stakeholder management strategies and service delivery. Stakeholder identification was the strategy for managing stakeholders. To gather primary data, a descriptive survey study approach using structured and semi-structured questionnaires was applied. Nine county governments in Kenya were purposively chosen for the study's sample size. Two hundred and nineteen (219) respondents were picked using a random sampling procedure, and their responses were compiled. The study's primary variables were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, and their statistical relationships were examined using regression and correlation analysis. The results of the study revealed a statistically significant relationship between stakeholder identification and service delivery.

Abstract: The resolution of conflicts and internecine wars across Africa has often proved enigmatic due to the failure to comprehend, articulate and activate an adequate framework for post-conflict reconstruction. Scholars like Laury Ocen, Olu Arowosegbe, and Elizabeth Mutunga admit that as seen in Sudan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and other conflict-ridden parts of Africa, post-conflict peace building must become integrative and indigenous in its approach especially as it relates to women and the girl-child. This paper therefore attempts an interrogative study of the effects of a comprehensive and well- articulated framework for post- conflict reconstruction on conflict displaced women. It utilizes the notion of jus post bellum in dissolving some of the ethical concerns associated with conflicts and concludes that state owes a moral duty that necessitates critical interventions and the sustenance of justice on a legal and moral framework.

Abstract: It is evident that the evolution of digital technology has created an apparent and drastic shift in the way the music industry operates. Social media as an important tool in music digitalisation is also bringing further transformation to the way artistes, producers and other music industry stakeholders conduct their business. Adopting the qualitative research method with digital ethnography and consultation of relevant literatures, this study examines the Nigerian music industry and the popular music scene through the current Afrobeats sub-genre against the backdrop of social media deployment. The paper argues that the social media has contributed positively towards the popularity of Afrobeats and the Nigerian music industry, and through social media new trends and novel way of music production, promotions and dissemination is being witnessed in the Nigerian popular music scene.

Abstract: The book of Psalms is widely read by Christians all over the globe. Psalm 23 is very popular and mostly read among Christians of all traditions because it is considered as a text that vividly describe the cordial relationship between Yahweh and his People. This Psalm 23: 5 has become the best Psalm and the favourite biblical passage of many Christians in Africa today. This study examines Psalm 23: 5 in the context of provision that is fundamental to the needs of the African people. This study is an attempt to reread this text existentially with the African life interest and experience. African Biblical Hermeneutics was used for the study.  It was discovered that the book of Psalms was used profusely by the ancient Israel and Christians in all traditions and generations. Provision is important to the African people who are currently going through economic recession. Psalm 23: 5  brought a certain form of relief and hope to the African who are in dare need of a God who can meet their economic needs on a daily basis. The God who supplies food in abundance in the presence of the enemies whose desire is to see humans suffer hunger deserve worship. The provisions of God is so much that it overflows. The study therefore concludes that African Bible Scholars must ensure that biblical text find relevance in African life interest at all times. This would make the Bible relevant in every generation.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of the job satisfaction on organizational performance in the county government of West Pokot. The study was guided by the following specific objective; to determine the effect of employee working condition on organizational performance in county government of West Pokot.  The study employed the  Locke’s value theory and human capital theory.  The study adopted descriptive research design.  The target population of the study was the executive staff, supervisory staff and lower employees from the County government of West Pokot with a sample size of 100 respondents which was 10% of the target population as recommended by Mugenda and Mugenda (2003). Data collection instrument was structured questionnaires.  The study used primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected using interviewer administered questionnaires while secondary data was obtained from scholars published journals. Pilot study was done in the Huduma centre of west Pokot to test the validity and reliability of the data collected instruments.  The study adopted a multiple regression analysis to test the significance levels of one variable over another.  Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. Data obtained was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 program. In conclusion basing on the findings, employee working condition (β = .664) was found to be positively related organizational performance in county government of West Pokot. From t-test analysis, the t -value was found to be 1.551 and the ρ -value 0.000. Statistically, this null hypothesis was rejected because ρ<0.05. Thus, the study accepted the alternative hypothesis and it concluded that employee working condition has a significant effect on organizational performance in county government of West Pokot. The study came up with a number of recommendations.  The study recommends that the management of county government of West Pokot should provide a healthy safe and conducive working condition to enable employees boost their moral towards the ultimate improvement of their productivity work towards the achievement of the organizational goals. The management of county government of West Pokot should seek guidance of terms and conditions to provide proper job and the assurance of its continuance in future as well as the absence of threatening factors and that short term employment results in: unscheduled turnover, low staff morale, and low productivity. The study was to be significant to the researchers, government bodies and to the human resource manager.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of strategy formulation on performance of the County government of TransNzoia. The study adopted institutional theory.  The study used a descriptive research design with a target population of 30 senior managers in the county government of TransNzoia. Since the target population was small then the study worked with entire population which is census   Data collection instrument was structured questionnaire. Both primary and secondary data was collected. The researcher self-dropped and pick the duly filled questionnaires. Piloting was done to test the validity and reliability of data collection instrument. Data was organised, coded, edited to bring a meaning. Both descriptive and inferential statistics was done.  Multiple regression was done to test the significant levels of one variable over the other.  Analysis of variance was done.   The finding revealed that strategy formulation had a significant effect on performance of the county government of TransNzoia. In conclusion basing on the findings, strategy formulation (β = 0.715) was found to be positively related performance of the County government of TransNzoia. From t-test analysis, the t -value was found to be 4.241 and the ρ -value 0.000. Statistically, this null hypothesis was rejected because ρ<0.05. Thus, the study accepted the alternative hypothesis and it concluded that strategy formulation affects performance of the County government of TransNzoia. The study recommends that the county government should offers proper direction to a firm for it seeks to set the long-term goals that help a firm exploit its strengths fully and grabs the opportunities that are present in the environment. The county government should exploit opportunities for a long-term plan so as to concentrate resources of corporate mission, specifying achievable objectives, developing strategies and setting policy guidelines which is achieved by reviewing key objectives and strategies of the organization, identifying available alternatives, evaluating the alternatives and deciding on the most appropriate alternative. Make use of regular audit to pinpoint the problems areas and highlights organizational strengths and weaknesses for corporate planning with the main objective of strategic audit being to develop benchmarks. The senior managers should be actively involved in the determination of the strategic activities pursued by the component parts of an organisation. The study is of significant to the researchers, academicians, stakeholders and to the entire economy as a whole.

Abstract: Around the world, several initiatives have been explored to improve access to education of young children. The researcher assessed the objectives which are to examine the elements of early childhood education planning; and establish a link between education planning and accessibility to early childhood education. There were 1,106 persons in the intended audience. Stratified, purposeful and fundamental randomness sample approaches were used for sampling.  The sample size was 15 principals, two sector education officers, 47 teachers, and 46 parents (for a total of 110 respondents). As data gathering techniques, formal and semi-structured questionnaires were employed, as well as interviews and focus group discussions. The information gathered was examined both subjectively and quantitatively. The information was analyzed in accordance with the study's purpose, and the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) software, 16.0 version, was utilized to create the frequencies, means, and percentages that were used to describe the study's conclusions. The study's findings found that components of education planning in Gasabo District such as training of personnel, curriculum development and buildings, equipment and facilities were insufficient as confirmed by the majority of respondents. The studies also found that access to early childhood education was limited due to a lack of classrooms, a high pupil-to-teacher ratio, and the high cost of accessible nursery schools. The data also revealed a beneficial association between education planning and early childhood education accessibility. Based on the data, the researcher concluded that early childhood education availability in Gasabo District is limited due to poor education planning. According to the results and conclusions, the study suggests that education planners and policymakers invest adequate funding in the education sector to encourage early childhood education. This would aid in the training of trained early childhood educators, the supply of teaching and learning tools, and the building of new classrooms, particularly in remote regions.

Abstract: As a result of the ransom demands made by kidnappers for their hostages, the proliferation of arms and munitions is a form of terrorism against humanity that has claimed the lives of countless Nigerians, left many without a home and forced the closure of businesses. A thorough research into what led to the increase in light weapons use and how it supports kidnapping activities is therefore highly desired. In this study, we investigate the dynamics of small and light weapon proliferation and kidnapping in Nigeria using a compartmental deterministic model.  The influence of the spread of weapons and tools used in abduction operations was studied mathematically using a set of nonlinear differential equations. We proved that a solution exists. The model was quantitatively examined and analyzed using the Runge-Kutta method of fourth order. The impacts of arrest, incarceration, and rehabilitation on kidnapping activities are depicted graphically. The findings demonstrate that reducing abduction activities can be achieve through the regulation of the importation of small arms and light weapons

Abstract: Mining is an industry that significantly contributes to the improvement of economic growth and development in many countries. Despite the enactment of legal and institutional frameworks many mine workers in quarries work in the presence of occupational hazards which lead to huge burden of accidents, and occupational injuries. This study assessed the status of occupational safety and health of soapstone mine workers in Tabaka, Kisii County, Kenya. Descriptive cross-sectional study was used where stratified random sampling and simple random sampling were used to draw a sample of 174 respondents. A structured, self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data on nature and frequencies of injuries, observational checklist used record how soapstone mining activities were performed by workers, while interview was conducted with quarry managers and institutions involved in occupational health and safety. Data was subjected to statistical analysis using SPPSS version 21.0.  Chi-square test of association was used to test hypothesis with p<0.05 considered statistically significant. The socio-demographic analysis showed 129 (74.1%) respondents were male with 114(65.5%) being the age-group of 36-50. 103(59.2%) had primary education. The type of injury experienced were cuts at 90(51.7%), fractures 44(25.3%), bruises 28 (16.1%), and back/chest injuries at 12 (6.9%). Injuries were caused by being struck/hit by rock 45(25.9%), sharp rock edges 43(24.7%), falls 18(10.3%), working tools/machinery 47(27%), lifting heavy load 10(2.9%) and cutting of rocks 11(6.3%). The injuries affected hand at 71(40.8%), head 57(32.8%), back/chest 21(12.1%), legs/knee/feet 14(8%) and arm 11(6.3%). The study concludes that there are occupational health and safety hazards associated with soapstone quarry activities in Tabaka, Kisii. It was recommended that enforcing bodies should develop and implement framework for sensitization and enforcing of compliance of OSH regulations on small scale mining operations to reduce nature and frequencies of occupation hazards.

Abstract: Literature is the kind of the tool to tell the daily life of the people, their behaviours, performances and identities of both genes. There is a close relationship between the gender performativity and literature. In the same way, characters are agents of the people who want to tell or show something they want in daily life for different purposes: political, economic, social and other aspects. In the book ‘Mrs. Dalloway’ written by feministic novelist Virginia Woolf, the writer revealed the life of women and those feelings concerning men, their perceptions, life choices and self-portrayal of life. There are some previous studies that analyzed the life of women and their perceptions based on gender performativity. Based on the findings of these studies, the writer had an attempt to do the research. In this paper, the researcher studied gender performativity and identity of the main character in ‘Mrs. Dalloway’. The title of doing this research is A Feminist Analysis on Performativity and Gender Identity of Main Character in Virginia Woolf’s ‘Mrs. Dalloway’. The main purpose of doing this research is to investigate the gender performativity and gender identity of the main character from the novel ‘Mrs. Dalloway’ and analyze how such performativity and identity reflect the life of a woman. The research took a month. It was conducted with Butler’s Gender Performativity Theory (1990). As the main data source, the writer used Virginia Woolf’s a famous novel ‘Mrs. Dalloway’.  Data were collected and analyzed by qualitative ways.  Due to the findings of the research, the main character, Clarissa Dalloway’s performativity and gender identity can portray her courageous, industrious, keen, intelligent and strong-minded feminist image at best. In brief, findings from this research can be supportive my further research related to gender performativity in the feminist approach.

Abstract: Civil society organizations play a prominent role in governance and are viewed as key to delivering government policy agendas of social action, open public services and grass root mobilization. A strong and positive relationship between democratic governments and the civil society has materialized to be a stable pillar in governance such that the civil society organizations are seen as an integral part of governance process. However, even in the most democratic and prosperous societies in the modern world, there are many services that are not adequately provided especially to the minorities therein creating a gap which is occupied by the civil societies. They therefore fulfill important duties of checks and balances in democracies with their ability to influence the government and hold it accountable. The objective of the study was to establish the civil society’ civil participation on performance of devolved units in Kenya.  The study used the descriptive survey research design to analyze and describe the relationship between civil society’ civic participation and performance of devolved  units in Kenya. The population of the study was all 1290 top management staff to be drawn from the civil society organizations registered in Kenya; 470 (county ministers and chief officers) in the county governments of Kenya. The data collection instruments were questionnaires. The study initiated a pilot study to pretest and validates the questionnaire. Content analysis was used to test data that is qualitative in nature or aspect of the data that was collected from the open ended questions. Regression analysis was carried out to test the nature of relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables at .05 level of significance. Results revealed that all the civil society’ civic participation dimension had a positive and significant relationship with performance of devolved governance units in Kenya. The results support the current theories related to the study. Consequently, this study provides national and county governments with insights of how to improve performance of devolved  units through the civil society governance interventions. The study recommended that national and county governments should adopt a culture of incorporating civil society governnace interventions (civic participation). This could go a long way in ensuring there is improved performance of devolved units in the county governments of Kenya.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of financial governance on performance of deposit taking SACCOs in Kenya. The contextual scope of this study was limited to the deposit taking SACCOs in Kenya. The study is based on the Stewardship theory. A conceptual framework is illustrated to show the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. This study was anchored to a positivist paradigm as well as descriptive-correlational-cross-sectional research designs. The target population of the study was 350 CEOs and chairpersons of the boards of the deposit taking Saccos in Kenya. The study used to select the subjects of study. The study used bivariate regression analysis to analyze the association between financial governance dimensions and performance of deposit taking Saccos. The results revealed that financial governance had a positive and significant relationship with performance of deposit taking Saccos in Kenya. The results support the current theories related to the study. Consequently, this study provides deposit taking Saccos on how to improve performance of Saccos through the adoption of appropriate financial governance practices.

Abstract: The primary objective of this study is to examine the frequency of metacognitive reading strategies (MRS) usage among international high school students and determine whether there are variations in the strategy usage based on their nationalities. To achieve this, the researcher used a literature-based questionnaire with specific reference to Tabaran et al. (2004). The metacognitive reading strategies questionnaire was administered to middle-aged, upper-intermediate-level students from five private international schools in Istanbul Turkey, with an average age of 17 years old. Surprisingly, the findings revealed a high awareness and implementation of MRS among the participants. However, the analysis of the independent sample t-test demonstrated no significant disparities in MRS usage between or within the groups based on the variable of nationality, indicating that students' cultural backgrounds had no discernible impact. Therefore, it can be concluded that exposing learners to the same curriculum may mitigate potential differences in the application of MRS.

Abstract: Public organisations play a key role in fostering national development, protecting national assets and facilitating business for the private sector to operate hence generate a lot of public interest. This study was motivated by concerns raised by stakeholders including its own employees on the performance of the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) with respect to its mandated functions of generating revenue, protecting wildlife and its habitats and facilitating community participation. DNPW’s share of the tourism market stands at 4% thus it only generates a measly USD 146/Km² compared to USD878-1,028/Km² by private sector and the neighbouring countries. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the organisational performance of the Department and to identify the key problem factors affecting its performance. A quantitative method design was used in the study. The target population was the entire Department. Purposive sampling was used to select 120 respondents for administering the questionnaire. Data was analysed in Microsoft Excel using descriptive and inferential statistics to test the influence of the Independent variables on the dependent.  Using the Balance Scorecard model, the study analysed the performance of the Department from 2016 to 2021. The overall performance of the Department was measured and the factors that affected its performance identified using the four perspectives of the Balance Scorecard. The study also measured the influence of each problem factor on the overall performance of the Department using Pearson’s Chi-square. The study found that the overall performance of the Department was between average to below average. Poorly set revenue targets, lack of innovation, low corporate image, inefficient internal processing systems and low human capital were identified as the main problem factors that contributed to the poor performance of the institution. The study concluded that the Department was not effective in executing its functions of protecting wildlife, generating revenue, controlling and managing habitats, issuing of licenses or in conducting research. The study identified improving goal setting, increasing staff numbers, automating systems and reviewing the Wildlife Act to enhance decision making, among the solutions to its poor performance.

Abstract: Governance provides a framework for ethical decision-making and managerial action that is based on transparency, accountability, and defined roles. It is the way through which people, organizations, and governments work toward common objectives, make decisions, generate legitimate authority and power, and promote and protect human rights. Within the constitutional architecture of Kenya, it is only Parliament that is mandated to enact laws. However, the same constitution provides that Parliament may delegate or cede limited powers to the executive arm of government to make delegated legislations. This study, therefore, sought to determine the role of capacity building in the delegated legislation process in Kenya. A descriptive survey research design and positivism philosophy were adopted with the target population was 410 from the delegated legislation mandates in three arms of government, legislature, executive, and the judiciary. The study used stratified random sampling, purposive and simple random sampling was used to select the sample population, and the sample size was 202 respondents with the key mandate of delegated legislation determined by using Yamane's (1967) Formula. The primary data was collected by use of questionnaires and analyzed quantitatively using inferential analysis. Based on the multiple linear regression results, it was revealed that capacity building positively and significantly related with delegated legislation process in Kenya. The study thus recommends every institution that makes delegated legislation should assess its obtaining capacity to undertake impact assessment before the instruments are made and approved. . This assessment should focus on both the conceptual as well as practical capacity of those institutions. The capacity building plan should be implemented in full. It is further recommended that the capacity assessment and building should not only focus on the executive and judiciary arms of government, but also the Legislature. Indeed there is need to have a comprehensive plan to build the capacity of parliament on how to process delegated legislation. This should focus particularly on the Delegated Legislation Committee as well as the support staff of that committee. This could go a long way in ensuring there is improved delegated legislative process in Kenya.

Abstract: In today's digital era, Instagram has emerged as a vital platform that holds great significance among teenage students worldwide. Due to its widespread popularity, Instagram has become an effective tool that facilitates not only social engagement but also the development of language proficiency. This study investigated the attitudes of Turkish EFL young adult learners towards using the Instagram platform as a means to improve their language proficiency. This study also aimed to explore the role of Instagram in facilitating English language learning and comprehending the factors driving its adoption among Turkish EFL students. For this purpose, an online survey questionnaire was sent to twelve (N=12) Turkish students from different universities in Istanbul. The obtained findings indicated that the majority of the participants are in favor of using the Instagram platform to practice English. The corresponding results also showed that the participants perceived positive outcomes due to their engagement in English language practice on Instagram, including the acquisition of new vocabulary and the noticed enhancement of their English language proficiency. Additionally, they conveyed that consistent utilization of Instagram contributed to the development of their confidence in using the English language.
